Buenos Aires is the capital of Argentina and its largest city and port. It is located on the southern shore of the Río de la Plata (also known as the River Plate), on the southeastern coast of the American continent.

-Population:
According to the census, the city proper has a population of 2,776,138, while the Greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area has more than 12.4 million inhabitants (2001 census [INDEC]). The population of the city has been stagnant since the late 1960s, due to low birth rates and a slow emigration to suburbia.

-Climate:
The climate in Buenos Aires is mild and very humid. Summers are hot, with an average temperature of 28 degrees centigrade. It is advisable to wear light clothes. Winters are not so cold, and temperatures vary from 3 to 8 degrees centigrade. At night and early in the morning, it freezes and it is usually foggy and misty, which hinders visibility. If you drive, do it carefully. In spring, temperatures range from 18 to 20 degrees centigrade and in fall, from 12 to 15 degrees. Wear a light coat if you go out early in the morning or at night.

-Tourist attractions:
La Boca, San Telmo, Monserrat, Puerto Madero, San Nicolás, Retiro, Recoleta, Palermo and Belgrano.

-Acomodation: Hotels, camp, etc.
